SLOW
SLOW is the sonic laboratory of musician and sound artist David Zerlin. The album “Light Black” is a long walk through an aural playground, taking threads of texture, pattern, and melody and weaving a tapestry that dilates one’s sense of time. Applying compositional strategies and non-musical elements to his creations, David attempts to break down the distinction between sound and music.
Guiding AI-generative art provided a way to visually apply similar techniques to create the fractal explosions, crystalizing through the blackness of the void. Multiple variations of the language-derived artwork were crafted for the singles and full album design.
